Locum Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 6)

Location: Staffordshire & Stoke area
Contract: Locum – ASAP start, 12 weeks
Hours: Full-time – Monday-Friday
Specialty: Physical Disability / Community

Mind Professionals is looking for a Specialist Occupational Therapist for full-time Locum work for a period of 12 weeks, covering the Staffordshire and Stoke area (Stafford, Lichfield, Tamworth, Burton and Leek). The post holder would be part of a service which supports adults within their own homes where the primary need is physical disability with long-term health conditions, to assist people to remain as independent as possible in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

– Be competent as appropriate to the requirements of the role.
– Putting people at the heart of what we do, Empowering People to improve Care and Wellbeing, Delivering better Health, better Care in partnership.
– Be a Specialist Occupational Therapist and have a detailed professional and clinical knowledge. They will be a specialist practitioner and have a focus in one of the following areas; Rehabilitation, Integrated Community, Community Intervention and Reablement.
– Be responsible for a defined population of service users in a variety of settings across the Partnership Trust including the community and hospitals.
– Be skilled in the assessment of complex/specialist care/support needs and in the development, implementation and evaluation of care/support packages.
– Have supervisory, training and leadership responsibilities where appropriate and will have some responsibility for team performance and service developments/improvements.
– Demonstrate initiative and be creative in finding solutions to problems.
– Work with the team leader undertaking delegated tasks in team management.

Requirements:

– Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
– Registration with HCPC
– Fieldwork educator’s accreditation
