Occupational Therapist
Location: Bristol
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time – 40 hours per week. Term time only
Setting: Special Education Needs School
Salary: 34,145.75 – 40,524.62 (FTE 39,748.80 – 47,174.40) dependent on experience
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist for a permanent role based at a school for children and young people aged 7-19 with a primary or secondary diagnosis of Autism and related social and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:
– Leading on the assessment and treatment of students, using your clinical skills to identify needs and deliver impactful interventions.
– Managing a caseload of children and young people with complex needs, working autonomously within a specialist education setting.
– Designing and delivering therapy programmes that align with EHCPs and clinical assessments—whether through direct intervention, staff training, or resource development.
– Collaborating with the SENCo and Headteacher to enhance and evolve our therapy provision, including reviewing resources and recommending new tools to support student outcomes.
– Providing expert guidance and training to colleagues across the multi-disciplinary team, helping embed Occupational Therapy into everyday practice.
– Maintaining accurate and professional records in line with HCPC and RCOT standards.
Requirements:
– A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current registratiowith the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
– Previous experience in an Occupational Therapist role supporting children and young adults with complex needs and diagnoses including ASD, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
