Job Description

Senior Speech and Language Therapist

Grade/Band: 6
Location: Gloucester
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5
Service: Neurorehabilitation

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to assess and treat patients with communication , swallowing and voice difficulties.
This will include patients with progressive neurological conditions, respiratory conditions, voice disorders and patients with swallowing difficulties of an unknown aetiology. This may involve delegating work to clinical assistants or newly qualified therapists

The service has 60 beds in Gloucester, which is on the outskirts of the town within easy commute from Gloucester, Cheltenham and surrounding villages.
The Centre delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability.
It specialises in slow stream rehabilitation where the emphasis is placed on maximising each individual’s abilities, comfort and quality of life.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
• HCPC registration
• Experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia
• Experience of working with families
• Evidence of continuing Professional Development

Patients will be seen in clinics, care homes, community hospitals, and their own homes.
