Perm Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Adderly Green, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire
Contract: Permanent
Hours: To be confirmed
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Benefits
Mind Professionals are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist with Neurological experience for Permanent work, joining a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
– Independently manage a specialist Speech and Language Therapy caseload
– Conduct communication and swallowing assessments to support diagnosis and care planning
– Provide specialist advice to residents, families and multidisciplinary teams
– Manage swallowing and PEG feeding programmes alongside nursing and dietetic teams
– Assess and support the use of communication aids
– Lead therapeutic communication groups and support rehabilitation programmes
– Train and supervise therapy assistants, carers and staff
– Work collaboratively on complex capacity and clinical cases
– Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and professional standards
Requirements:
– UK HCPC registration
– Experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia
– Experience of working with families
– Evidence of continuing Professional Development
