Job Description
Clinical Psychologist
Location: Pilning, South Gloucestershire
Contract: Permanent, term time only (44.67 paid weeks)
Hours: 24 hours per week (3 days, to be discussed at interview)
Setting: Special Education Needs School
Salary: £33,952.77 – £39,366.78
We are looking for an Clinical Psychologist for a permanent role based at a school for children and young people aged 7-19 with a primary or secondary diagnosis of Autism and related social and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Play a central role in shaping the emotional and behavioural development of students.
• Work directly with young people to assess their psychological needs.
• Deliver tailored interventions that promote growth and independence.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to embed Positive Behaviour Support strategies across the school.
• Ensure consistent, compassionate care for every child.
• Provide expert guidance and training to staff and families.
• Empower others to better understand and respond to children’s needs.
• Lead group sessions and offer one-to-one support as required.
• Contribute to helping students thrive both in school and beyond.
Requirements:
• HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist with a postgraduate qualification in Psychology
• Experience supporting young people with Autism and complex needs
• Background in educational, care, or clinical settings
• Skilled in multi-disciplinary collaboration
• Experience supervising Assistant Psychologists
• Passionate about evidence-based practice and continuous learning
