Consultant Psychiatrist
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part-time – 1 day (8hrs)/month, to be worked between Mon-Fri, 08:30-16:30
Specialty: Prison Services
Salary: Up to £196,736 per annum FTE (depending on experience)
Mind Professionals are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with Section 12 approval for a part-time position, working 1 day per month between Monday-Friday, working an 8 hour shift from 08:30-16:30, based in an open Category D female prison based in Askham Richard, York, North Yorkshire.
This role has a low volume of patients who require psychiatric support, enabling the post holder to provide consistent and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite
– Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision
– Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews.
Requirements:
– Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
– Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
– Approved under Section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
– Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
– Up to date knowledge in the Adult Psychiatry and PD
– Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
