Job Description

Job Title: Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist & Director of Clinical Practice Specialist Mental Health Services.

Job type: locum or permenant

Mind professionals is looking for a consultant Psychiatrist responsible for providing the clinical leadership, governance and psychiatric oversight for the residential homes within the Specialist Mental Health Services (SMHS), ensuring safety, regulatory and contractual compliance and quality of the service.

The post holder will work as a Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist providing psychiatric input for young people, in addition to holding a wider responsibility as Clinical Practice Lead for the Specialist Mental Health Residential Services. With your clinical expertise and psychiatric leadership, you will have the opportunity to shape the development of this growing service, including its clinical model, to ensure the delivery of the very best care and positive outcomes for young people.

The role will also involve the governance and psychiatric oversight of our satellite homes which are part of the Specialist Mental Health provision.
The post holder will work with the Regional Managers and Home Managers aligned with the SMHS to ensure that the clinical psychiatric input meet the needs of the localised core service offer.

Our Specialist Mental Health Service focuses on improving the outcomes of children who have had a long and difficult journey through mental health services and some may have included inpatient admissions. Our service accepts young people between 12 and 18 years of age with varied mental health diagnoses such as mood disorders, psychotic disorders, emerging personality disorders, Autism Spectrum Conditions and behaviours and risks in association with these diagnoses. This is a unique opportunity to work in a Community service with intense therapeutic provision and education on site.
