Job Description

Forensic Psychologist

Location: Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part-time – 2/3 days/week
Specialty: Forensic / Acute / Inpatient
Salary: ยฃ55,000 pro rata

Mind Professionals are looking for a Forensic Psychologist to join a psychology department based in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, working part time 2/3 days per week, across multiple acute wards.

To post holder will be based in a highly regarded mental health hospital, with 73 service users with a range of conditions, being treated over 6 wards.

As Forensic Psychologist, the post holder will deliver a specialist service, running assessments and evaluations to implement psychological interventions, and enabling the effective delivery of our client’s psychology programme.

Key Responsibilities:

– To be responsible for conducting psychological interviews, deriving information from self-report measures, rating scales, psychometrics (where necessary), direct and indirect structured observations etc.
– To provide psychotherapeutic assessments.
– To be skilled in risk assessment and management.
– To be responsible, for running and evaluating psychological tests, providing feedback sensitively.
– To formulate and implement plans for formal psychotherapeutic intervention and/or management of a client’s mental health problems.
– To be responsible for the assessment, formulation and implementation of psychotherapeutic programmes, for the specific clinical area.

Essential Requirements:

– Professional Registration as a Psychologist with the HCPC
– Experience of assessing Challenging Behaviour, formulating underlying functions and needs, and designing behavioural or treatment plans accordingly.
– Experience of indirect clinical work, such as consultation with multi-disciplinary teams to support their therapeutic interventions with service users.
