Job Description
Locum Consultant Psychiatrist – Old Age
Location: Barnet, London, Greater London
Contract: Locum – ASAP start, 3 months
Hours: Part-time (15 hrs/wk) – 2 days/week
Specialty: Old Age
Mind Professionals are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with Section 12 approval for part-time locum work in Old Age, working at a hospital in Barnet, London, Greater London. This role also involves the provision of input to the A&E Department and an Acute Assessment Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
– To provide clinical leadership alongside colleague consultant psychiatrist
– To attend and provide oversight to handover meetings where the tasks of the day will be decided and work allocated.
– To contribute to the assessments of both general adults and older adults when required, including assessment, diagnosis and formulation of patients.
– To provide consultation and support to patients with complex needs or support to MDT in decision making.
– To provide cross cover with other medical colleagues for annual leave when required.
– To maintain excellent records on system and at general hospital.
– To ensure that junior doctors working with them are compliant with the Working Time Directive and supported informally and formally.
– To contribute to management of patient flow, working with bed management and highlighting any delays
Requirements:
– Full GMC registration and licence to practise
– Section 12 approval
– Approved Clinician status (desirable)
