Job Description
Locum Consultant Psychiatrist
Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
Contract: Locum – Starting mid-May, ending late July
Hours: Full-time (10 PAs) – 09:00-17:00
Specialty: Prison Services
Mind Professionals are looking for a prison vetted Consultant Psychiatrist for part-time locum work in a high security men’s prison and Young Offender Institution (YOI), based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.
Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive):
– Conduct assessments, including risk assessments, treatment, care planning, and multiagency liaison for individuals with mental health problems in the prisons.
– Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments.
– Contribute to planned emergency interventions.
– Liaise with prisons, courts, statutory and non-statutory agencies concerning all aspects of mental health care management for men with mental health problems in the prisons.
Requirements:
– Full GMC registration and licence to practice
– Experience working in a prison role/setting (desirable)
– Must be prison vetted
