Locum Consultant Psychiatrist
Band: Consultant
Location: Lincolnshire
Contract: Locum – ongoing
Hours: 37.5
Service: Forensic
Description of the Role:
โข The role includes all aspects of high-quality trauma informed specialist patient care for men in two HMP sites.
โข The post holder will provide medical leadership within the integrated mental health team. To engage in effective trauma-informed communication with multi-professional colleagues.
โข The role will include assessment (including the assessment of risk), treatment, care planning and multiagency liaison for people with mental health problems in the prisons.
โข Undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments.
โข Liaison with prisons, courts, statutory and non-statutory agencies, concerning all aspects of the mental health care management of men with mental health problems in the prisons.
โข To work closely with the Manager, Psychologists and other lead professionals to provide clinical leadership and ensure safe, supportive care.
โข To liaise closely with other medical, clinical and managerial staff to provide high quality care pathways.
โข Participation, when relevant, in the ACCT (self-harm / suicide prevention) processes.
โข Practice in accordance with NICE and other relevant Guidelines and NHFT Trust policy.
โข Accurate record keeping according to Trust and professional guidelines (data protection legislation and information governance standards).
โข Application of the Mental Health Act including sections 48/49 and 47/49.
โข To support onsite clinical supervision of Mental Health Advanced Clinical Practitioners and non-medical prescribers working across NHFT Secured Services.
โข The post-holder will accept that the description of clinical duties is not exhaustive. The detail of clinical duties will be reviewed in the light of the post-holderโs experience and the needs of the service.
โข Amendments to the post-holderโs clinical duties may be possible as the Directorate continues to develop.
