Locum Highly Specialist Early Years Lead Children’s Occupational Therapist

Location: Croydon, Greater London
Contract: Locum – ASAP start, 6 months
Hours: Full/Part-time

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist for Locum work in a Highly Specialist Early Years Lead Children’s Occupational Therapist role.

Key Responsibilities:

– To manage a complex caseload of early year children providing specialised assessnments, intervention and provision of equipment.
– To provide a specialised standard of occupational therapy assessment and intervention for a caseload of children with a wide range of developmental difficulties, many of whom may have complex or multiple pathologies, in line with department’s priorities and policies.
– To work across Health, Education and Social Services settings combining the traditional roles of both Health and Social Services Occupational Therapists as part of an integrated occupational therapy service for children, young people and their families in line with the Section 31 Partnership Agreement between Croydon Health Services and Croydon Council.
– To provide supervision and contribute to the development of junior occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants / technical instructors and students, through the use of supervision, appraisal and development.
– To be a source of clinical expertise in Early Years (0-5 years old) and advice on occupational therapy client care for occupational therapy colleagues, other health professionals and colleagues working in external agencies.
– To work frequently as a lone practitioner across a variety of locations within the community, including client’s homes and schools, ensuring that intervention is responsive and sensitive to the social, cultural, linguistic and religious needs of a diverse population.
– To work as an autonomous practitioner complying with the standards set by the Health & Care Professions Council, College of Occupational Therapy, Croydon Health Service
