Locum Principal Clinical Psychologist
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Contract: Locum – 6 months
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hrs/week)

Pay Rate: £37.32 (Paid VIA Approved Umbrella)
Mind Professionals is recruiting on behalf of the Ministry of Defence for a Principal Clinical Psychologist to work full-time, providing high-quality and specialist clinical psychology services, based at a naval base in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for people to add military mental health to their portfolio of experience, particularly if they are interested in working in NHS veterans services or the third sector in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
– To provide a high-quality and specialist clinical/counselling psychology service as an independent practitioner.
– To provide a specialist psychological assessment and therapy service, demonstrating clinical leadership and offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care.
– To maintain the highest standards of record keeping, including electronic data entry and recording, alongside repoirt writing, activity returns and responsible exercising of professional self-governance.
– To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the relevant teams’ policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements:
– Must be eligible for Graduate Membership of the BPS.
– Must have Postgraduate doctoral level training in Clinical/Counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
– Must have HCPC registration under Practitioner Psychologist domain.
– Must have a minimum of two years post-qualification experience working as a Clinical/Counselling psychologist within the designated specialty (Adult Mental Health).
– Must be able to evidence having been permanently employed for a minimum of two years at a Principal grade.
