Job Description
Locum Senior Psychologist
We are looking to cover a placement for a band 8A Psychologist to start ASAP for 12 weeks (initially) with an adult community psychological service based in Essex.
Band: 8A
Location: Colchester, Essex
Contract: Locum (12 weeks initially)
Hours: Full time (37.5 per week Monday to Friday) – 9-5
Start Date: ASAP
Role Summary:
– To work autonomously to provide specialist psychological input to service users, their families and other professionals/services involved in the life and care of service users.
– To deliver effective, tailored, evidence based psychological assessments and interventions to service users and their families.
– To deliver psychological treatments underpinned by evidence based practice, NICE guidelines, and DH guidance.
– Utilise relevant standardised assessment tools
– Monitor and evaluate psychological interventions and assist and advise how to monitor and evaluate other non-psychological interventions (e.g. psychologically informed interventions run by OTs), when appropriate and required.
– To work in collaboration with colleagues, teams and other services towards the overall provision of evidence based, cost effective, direct and indirect interventions to service users, and other stakeholders.
– To actively contribute to the decision making process of how resources are utilised effectively and efficiently.
– To assist in and contribute to the development of services, teams, projects and interventions.
– To contribute to the review of how services, teams, projects and intervention work.
– To give expert clinical advice to management about the effectiveness of interventions and models of care.
Requirements:
– HCPC registration – Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
– Knowledge of the use of complex methods of psychological assessment and intervention.
– Experience in specialist psychological assessment and treatment of complex mental health presentations across the full range of care set
