Job Description
Locum Senior Social Worker
Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire
Contract: Locum – ASAP start, until the end of September
Hours: Full-time (37 hrs/week)
Specialty: Mental Health
Total Pay/Hour: £32.14 (Paid VIA Approved Umbrella)
Mind Professionals are recruiting on behalf of the Ministry of Defence for a Senior Social worker for full-time locum work in Mental Health, based in the Department of Community Mental Health (DCMH) in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
Essential Requirements:
– Registration with Social Work England (SWE)
– Degree in Social Work or equivalent Diploma in Social Work (DipSW) Certificate of Qualification in Social Work
– Experience working as a Mental Health Social Worker in a mental health setting
– Experience working with clients with a range of complex mental health difficulties
– Thorough understanding and working knowledge of mental disorders and treatment options including the recovery model
– Understanding and working knowledge of all social care legislation – Mental Health Act (MHS) (83), Mental Capacity Act (MCA) including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLs)(LPS), Care Act 14, EHCR (98), and Adult and Children Safeguarding policies
– Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable Qualifications:
– An approved mental health professional (AMHP) qualification – previously known as Approved Social Worker (ASW) or other regionally recognised equivalent
– Previous Ministry of Defence (MoD) experience
– Formal training within the range of ‘talking therapies’ such as Solution Focused Brief Intervention Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
– Acceptance and Commitment and Cognitive Processing Therapy
– Practice Educator Award
– Experience of knowledge of Tri Service Discharge and resettlement procedures or involvement in civilian hospital discharge into community care
