Locum Senior Social Worker
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Contract: Locum – ASAP start, ending late October
Hours: Full-time (37 hrs/wk)
Specialty: Community Services
Total Pay/Hour: £32.14 (Paid VIA Approved Umbrella)
Mind Professionals are recruiting on behalf of the Ministry of Defence for a Senior Social worker for full-time locum work in Mental Health, working as part of a Mental Health Team in Preston, Lancashire.
Key Responsibilities:
– To provide effective Mental Health Social Work (MHSW) in support of a designated Department of Community Mental Health, Defence Mental Health Social Work Service and the wider Defence Mental Health Services
– Contribute to the development of service delivery, suggesting developmental initiatives in support of observations.
– Manage patient caseloads according to DCMH allocation processes and practices as directed by the clinical team lead and the MHSW Regional Lead.
– Support the management of the DCMH by providing direct delivery advice for MHSW to the DCMH manager (single post locations) or the MHSW Regional Lead (dual post locations).
– Provide SME knowledge and guidance for Health & Social Care and Safeguarding Lead for the mental health team.
– Undertake such additional clinical/management tasks as may be appropriate to the grade and the role agreed in discussion with their line manager / HoS.
Requirements:
– Must be an appropriately qualified and experienced Mental Health Social Work professional. Be registered with the SWE, SSSC, CCW or NISCC
– Degree in Social Work or equivalent Diploma in Social Work (DipSW) Certificate of qualification in Social Work (CQSW)
– Must be an experienced Mental Health Social Worker with post qualifying experience of working in a mental health setting.
– Experience of working with clients with a range of complex mental health difficulties.
– Caseload management experience in a multi professional setting A thorough working knowledge of the Mental Health Act (83)
