Occupational Therapist

Location: Grimsby, Lincolnshire
Contract: Permanent
Specialty: Adults / Learning Disabilities / Autism
Salary: £33,280

Mind Professionals are looking for an Occupational Therapist for work at a specialist inpatient hospital for Adults with Learning Disabilities and/or who are autistic with additional needs that require an inpatient stay under the Mental Health Act (1983, 2007), based in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.

Key Responsibilities:

– Communicating effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, directors, associate directors, people who access services, carers/supporters/family members, stakeholders and agencies
– Providing compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff including support staff and assistants
– Ensuring the effective delivery of occupational therapy student placements
– Supporting the completion of supervisions, appraisals/personal development plans with junior staff
– To be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways

Requirements:

– Occupational therapy profession qualification(s)
– Registered with the HCPC
– Relevant post qualification clinical experience with people with learning disability who have complex needs
– Extensive experience of applying occupational frames of reference and approaches
– Highly effective clinical reasoning skills
– Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and intervention models
– Knowledge of how to work with vulnerable individuals
