Job Description
Occupational Therapist
Location: Lancashire
Contract: Permanent
Service: SEN School
We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join a multidisciplinary therapy team supporting children and young people aged 5โ19 with special educational needs. Students may have autism, sensory and attachment difficulties, communication needs, dyslexia, anxiety, or other barriers to learning. This is a newly created role focused on developing and embedding therapy provision across the schools.
Key Responsibilities:
โข Assess children with complex needs and deliver tailored occupational therapy interventions
โข Develop, implement, review, and evaluate individualised therapy and care plans
โข Support childrenโs daily living skills, self-care, productivity, and leisure
โข Work closely with SENCOs, families, therapists, and external agencies
โข Use advanced clinical reasoning to select evidence-based strategies
โข Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional standards
Essential Requirements:
โข Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
โข HCPC registration
โข Experience working as an Occupational Therapist
โข Experience in multidisciplinary and multi-agency settings
โข Strong commitment to continuing professional development
Desirable Experience:
โข CAMHS, ASC, paediatric, or special school occupational therapy experience
