Senior Clinical Psychologist
Location: Highgate, Birmingham, West Midlands
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hrs/week)
Specialty: Mental Health / Inpatient
Salary: £55,880 to £63,487
Mind Professionals are looking for a Senior Clinical Psychologist for permanent work at a 23-bed male mental health inpatient unit based in Highgate, Birmingham. This will consist of 19 high dependency beds and four self-contained recovery flats to enable assessment of daily living skills in preparation for discharge.
Key Responsibilities:
– To provide a qualified clinical psychology service to service users across our inpatient units.
– To provide highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on service users’ psychological care to the multi-disciplinary team.
– To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
– To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
Requirements:
– Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
– Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist
– Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in specific difficult to treat groups
– Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology.
– Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
– Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of service users across a range of care settings.
