Senior Occupational Therapist

Location: Chigwell, Essex
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time (Term-time)
Specialty: Special Educational Needs
Salary: £52,042 – £59,741 + excellent benefits

Mind Professionals are looking for an Occupational Therapist for part-time work as a Senior Occupaitonal Therapist, working with a private client, specialising in Special Educational Needs for Children and Young People.

The post holder will be working at an independent specialist day school which provides high quality education for pupils (aged 5-19 years old) with a primary diagnosis of autism or with clear evidence of being on the autism pathway.

Key Responsibilities:

– Use advanced specialist knowledge and levels of experience appropriately and effectively across a range of work practices which is underpinned by comprehensive and extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
– To undertake high quality assessments of children and young people and make recommendations about appropriate therapeutic interventions for each child or young person, in accordance with individual assessed needs.
– To work closely with children, young people and their staff to ensure a personalised plan of delivery.
– To provide line management and clinical supervision to allocated Occupational Therapists within the region or setting.
– To support the recruitment and induction process and offer ongoing mentoring and coaching for clinical colleagues as required.
– To participate in service and practice development.
– To undertake management and leadership roles as required within the setting/region e.g chairing/facilitation of meetings.
– To identity training needs, develop and facilitate training sessions to staff and parents/carers.
– To promote and facilitate Reflective Practice.
– To prepare high-quality reports and quality assure reports.

Requirements:

– Be a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC
