Job Description
Speech and Language Therapist
Location: West Midlands
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time
Specialty: Children and Young People Services
Salary: Negotiable (depending on experience)
Mind Professionals are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist with experience working with Children and Young People for full-time work, providing speech and language therapy to Children and Young People, working across Birmingham/West Midlands, Worcester and Gloucester.
Key Responsibilities:
– To be a core member of the education clinical team, providing direct and indirect speech and language therapy input to children and young people who use the company’s Education Services.
– To provide consultation, training and support to education colleagues working with children and young people.
– To liaise with internal and external professionals and parents / carers as appropriate.
– To work collaboratively to embed high quality speech, language and communication practices, meeting the needs of children and young people who attend the company’s Education Services.
Requirements:
– HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
– Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy
– Experience of working with Children and Young People, as well as the adults who work with/care for them
– Experience of assessment and intervention with people who have a history of developmental trauma, neurodevelopmental needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
– Experience of providing consultation, training and support to other professionals and non-professionals
– Knowledge and practice of Speech and Language Therapy in working with Children and Young People with complex needs and/or difficulties
– Knowledge of Speech and Language Therapy tools and assessments
