Job Description
Speech and Language Therapist
Grade/Band: 6/7
Location: Hackney
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours
Specialty: SEND
Responsibilities:
1. To provide speech and language therapy assessment, intervention and advice in
accordance with the children’s needs.
2. Ensure relevant therapeutic intervention in line with the requirements of their EHCP
3. Develop intervention plans based on student needs and regularly evaluate including
direct, pairs small group, class based and indirect interventions.
4. Ensure all communication forms are integrated as required into the students programmes
including high and low Tech AAC support.
5. Monitor and reassess the effects of speech and language therapy intervention and the
need to continue, modify, or discontinue intervention.
6. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings
with other disciplines, offer recommendations and develop student plans and
intervention plans to achieve their goals.
Requirements:
– 2+ years post SLT qualification working in pediatrics
– Experience in working across a multi-professional team
– Registered with the HCPC
