Permanent Speech and Language Therapist – Special Education Needs

Location: Windsor, Berkshire
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time

Salary Range: £41,983-£49,717 (includes paid school holidays) + excellent benefits

Mind Professionals are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist well-versed in child development and good at connecting with young people, for a full-time permanent role based at an independent specialist day school in Windsor.

The school provides high-quality primary and secondary education and meets the needs of a diverse group of pupils with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviours.

As part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team the post holder will support educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments and offer individualised interventions to the pupils. They will also assess young people’s mental health and recommend appropriate interventions in a personalised care plan.

Key Responsibilities:

– Ensure the needs and views of the children and young people are at the heart of everything you do: offering evidence based, holistic and child-centred assessments and interventions across the Three Waves of Intervention and in line with the company Therapeutic Focus Model.
– Use advanced specialist knowledge and levels of experience appropriately and effectively across a range of work practices which is underpinned by comprehensive and extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
– To undertake high quality assessments of children and young people and make recommendations about appropriate therapeutic interventions for each child or young person, in accordance with individual assessed needs
– To provide line management and clinical supervision to allocated Therapies Assistants within the setting and to support Newly Qualified Speech and Language Therapists within the setting
