Job Description
Locum Consultant Psychiatrist
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Contract: Locum – Starting late June, ending August
Hours: Full-time (Part-time will be considered)
Specialty: CAMHS / Inpatient
Mind Professionals are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist, AC approved, with a wide range of experience in CAMHS (including Tier 4) for full-time locum work in a CAMHS Inpatient role. The post holder will be working primarily with Young People admitted to the unit, based at a clinic in Birmingham, West Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:
– The post holder will be required to hold overall clinical/medical responsibility and review patients at a frequency according to their clinical need and risks.
– Providing direct psychiatric services through the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.
– Providing psychiatric leadership to the multidisciplinary teams and clinical leadership in collaboration with the team leaders.
– Assuring the involvement of families and carers wherever possible with the patients consent in treatment planning.
– To participate in the Consultant on- call rota covering out of hours’ responsibilities including weekends.
Requirements:
– Full GMC registration and licence to practise
– Approved Clinician status
– MRCPsych
– CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent
– Experience of Tier 4 in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
– A broad range of experience in Child & Adolescent psychiatry and working with multi-disciplinary teams.
